RAYONG

Rayong is located on Thailand’s eastern seaboard, about 220 kilometers from Bangkok on Highway No.3. Covering an area of 3552 square kilometers and 100 kilometers of beach long the Gulf of Thailand. Rayong has plenty to offer for all visitors. The population of Rayong province is around 420,000 people. Today Rayong province is one of Thailand’s premiere tourist destination and industrial center with U-tapao airport, Laem Chabang and Mab Ta Put Ports.
Rayong Province is famous among tourists for its interest exciting activities. There are three distinct attractions on this coastal province, the first is beautiful white sandy beaches both on the mainland and islands. The second is the variety of delicious seafood at reasonable price. The last but not least is regional fruit such as durian, rambutan, mangosteen, pineapple and long-kong are harvested in May each year. Preserved seafood for which the province is well known are shrimp paste, fish sauce and dried seafood available year round.

Mae Ramphueng Beach

Mae Ramphueng Beach is 11 kilometers from town, is in front of HI Rayong. It is located within ‘Khao Laem Ya-Ko Samed National Park’, hugged by a road that runs for 10 kilometers with a small fisherman’s village called ‘Ban Kon Ao’ at one end.Mae Ramphueng Beach is 12 kilometers long beach on this small fishing village. The beach is clean with gentle slope suitable for swimming except in monsoon season.

Khao Laem Ya and Ban Kon Ao

Khao Laem Ya is a small hill located slightly beyond ‘Ban Kon Ao’. Some areas of Khao Laem Ya from headlands stretching out into the sea and covered by sea glass. From this point, the sunlight that reflects on the sea’s surface is very beautiful. Ban Kon Ao is a little fisherman’s village, located at the end of Had Mae Ramphueng. It can still be in the traditional way of life. During the night, tourists can join with the fisherman to catch squids and crabs from the sea. Tourists also get lively and cheap seafood from this village. It will take about 20 minutes (on foot) from HI Rayong to fisherman village.
